MRF Weekly Lottery Terms & Conditions

By entering the MRF Weekly Lottery, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

  • Players must be 18 years of age or over
  • Players must be residents of England, Scotland, or Wales
  • One entry per person per line purchased
  • Valid bank details required for Direct Debit payment
  • Employees of MRF and Woods Valldata are not eligible to play

2. How to Enter

  • Register online at mresearchfoundation.com/lottery
  • Select 6 numbers from 1-49 or choose Lucky Dip for random selection
  • Players may enter up to 5 lines per week
  • Entry cost is £1 per line per week via Direct Debit
  • Entry deadline is Thursday 11:59 PM for Friday's draw
  • First entry begins on the next available draw date after registration

3. The Draw

  • Draws take place every Friday at 7:00 PM
  • 6 winning numbers are selected from 1-49 using random number generation
  • Draw process is independently verified and audited
  • Results are published within 24 hours on our website
  • In the event of technical issues, the draw may be postponed with notification to players

4. Prizes

  • 1st Prize: £25,000 for matching all 6 numbers in any order
  • 2nd Prize: £1,000 for matching 5 numbers in any order
  • Runner-Up Prizes: 5 prizes of £20, 10 prizes of £10, 20 prizes of £5 (randomly selected from all eligible entries)
  • If no winner matches the required numbers, runner-up prizes are still awarded
  • Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw date
  • Unclaimed prizes are allocated to MRF's charitable funds

5. Winner Notification

  • Winners are notified by email or phone within 3 working days
  • Winners must provide valid ID for verification
  • Prizes are paid directly to registered bank account within 30 days of verification
  • Winners may be asked for permission to publish first name and town for publicity
  • Winners may request anonymity

6. Payment & Subscription

  • Payment is processed weekly via Direct Debit
  • Direct Debit is managed by Woods Valldata, our external lottery manager
  • Direct Debit Guarantee applies to all transactions
  • Players may cancel at any time by contacting lottery@mresearchfoundation.com
  • Cancellations take effect from the next draw cycle
  • No refunds for past draws
  • If payment fails, entry is suspended until payment is received

7. Use of Funds

  • 50p from every £1 ticket directly funds MRF's charitable work
  • Remaining funds cover external lottery manager fees and prize fund
  • All cash prizes are insured and provided by Woods Valldata
  • Financial transparency reports available on request

8. Data Protection

  • Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Data is used to process lottery entries, notify winners, and communicate results
  • Marketing communications require separate consent
  • Players may request data access, correction, or deletion at any time

9. Responsible Gambling

  • Players may self-exclude by contacting us
  • Support available through BeGambleAware.org and GAMCARE (0808 802 0133)
  • We promote responsible play and will work with players experiencing difficulties
  • Complaints procedure available on request

10. Liability

  • MRF is not liable for technical failures preventing entry or draw
  • Prize liability lies with Woods Valldata as the external lottery manager
  • MRF reserves the right to suspend or cancel the lottery with reasonable notice
  • Force majeure events exclude liability
  • Disputes resolved through UK arbitration

11. General

  • Terms may be updated with notice to players
  • Continued play constitutes acceptance of updated terms
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
  • If any term is invalid, remaining terms continue in effect
